The Embassy’s Mission

“To Promote and Protect Uganda’s national interests in Iran and other countries of accreditation”

 Key Functions of the Embassy

To realize its mandate, the key functions of the Embassy in Tehran include the following;

  1. Trade and export promotion aimed at attracting Iranian investors to Uganda and expanding the market for Ugandan products in the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries of accreditation.
  2. Attracting Foreign Direct Investment from Iran and the other countries of accreditation.
  3. Promotion of Tourism aimed at increasing the number of tourists’ arrivals from Iran and the other countries of accreditation.
  4. Knowledge and technology transfer through capacity building opportunities, scholarships and exchange programs.
  5. Provide diplomatic, protocol and consular services in Iran and other countries of accreditation.
  6. Promote political and diplomatic cooperation with Iran and other countries of accreditation at both bilateral levels as well as International Organizations such as the United Nations (UN), Non-Align Movement (NAM) and the Group of Seventy-Seven plus China (G77)
  7. Mobilizing the diaspora community to participate in the development of Uganda through increased remittances and investments.
  8. Recommend the appointment of Honorary Consuls for Uganda in non-resident countries of accreditation.
