Basing on Uganda's Government policy to render consular services to Ugandans in the diaspora, the Head of Chancery/Consular Mr. Tumukunde Dennis accompanied by the Mission's Administration Attache' Ms Kyokutamba Jennifer paid a visit on the Ugandan students and Ugandan Community at the Al-Mustangs International University in Qom Province. 

He briefed the Ugandan community on the need to have all their particulars and dependents registered with embassy and various consular services that the embassy offers in case of loss of passports, issuance of emergency travel documents, registration of Ugandans, certification of academic documents, and also encouraged them to study various courses alongside the religious studies that will be of help to their future. 

The students presented a draft of the Uganda - Iran Students Association that they had formed and the consular informed them to approach the embassy when its completed for further discussions and guidance. 

They also discussed various challenges faced and how they can be helped by the embassy to address them including issuance of the newly introduced e-passports, harassment by the immigration officials at Entebbe International Airport having to explain why they are going to study in Iran among others. 

Mr. Tumukunde Dennis informed them that their challenges will be resolved through constant dialogue with the embassy officials and he promised to always invite them to attend mission occasions like Independence Day, African day, exhibitions and meetings with visiting delegations from Uganda. Some new students were also registered and the Ugandan database updated.
