Iran Offers Ten Scholarships to Teachers for Vocational Training

The Iranian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Amir Hossein Nik Bin has asked Hon Dr. Philemon Matekye, State Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, to give him ten Ugandan teachers to be sponsored for vocational training in Iran. The Ambassador made the revelation in a meeting with the Minister in his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Iranian envoy had paid a courtesy call and to congratulate the minister upon his appointment and to discuss bi-lateral issues between the two countries. 

The Ambassador congratulated the Minister upon his appointment and pledged cooperation and support from his government. He informed the Minister about the projects funded by the Iranian Government like the Abattoir under construction on Masaka road among others.

Hon. Matekye thanked his guest for the gesture and pledged to work with him. The two discussed bi-lateral and regional issues including the Burundi crisis.
