Visa Information

The visa section at the Uganda\r\nEmbassy, Tehran is open to the public Sunday to Thursday from 09:00 am to 3:30\r\npm, except on public holidays in Uganda and Iran where it is closed.

Applicants are advised to submit\r\ntheir completed application forms well in advance (48 working hours before the proposed travel date) and it is the responsibility of the\r\napplicant to verify the visa particulars before travelling.

CHECKLIST FOR ISSUANCE OF OFFICIAL\r\nAND EAST AFRICA TOURIST VISA

Visas are valid only from the date\r\nof issue and stated period:

  1. Dully\r\n filled visa application form by each applicant (to be collected from\r\n consular section of the Embassy or downloaded via Visa & Consular
  2. \r\n
  3. A recent\r\n colored passport-size photograph (original)
  4. \r\n
  5. A genuine\r\n passport valid for at least six months from the proposed date of entry
  6. \r\n
  7. Photocopy\r\n of bio-data page of the applicant's passport
  8. \r\n
  9. Letter of\r\n invitation or introduction.
  10. \r\n
  11. Bank\r\n statements in case you are meeting own costs, or if travelling on business\r\n as a guarantee, and where applicant will stay in Uganda
  12. \r\n
  13. Photocopy\r\n of a valid air ticket for traveling to Uganda with return or onward travel
  14. \r\n
  15. International\r\n Health certificate showing proof of yellow fever vaccination (for persons\r\n coming from yellow fever affected countries)
  16. \r\n
  17. Original\r\n bank slip or other original bank documents as a proof of payment of visa\r\n fees
  18. \r\n
  19. Applicant\r\n should report personally to the Embassy to pick the visa / passport,\r\n unless the visa was requested through an agent, who may pick it on behalf\r\n of the applicant.

  21. Applicants\r\n may be requested to submit additional supporting documentation/\r\n information before visa is issued

VISA FEE SCHEDULE AND OTHER DETAILS

  • Only\r\n single entry visas are issued at a fee of US$50
  • \r\n
  • Visa fees\r\n must be paid to Uganda Embassy, Tehran account on submission of Visa\r\n applications.
  • \r\n
  • Cheques\r\n are not accepted
  • \r\n
  • Visas are\r\n valid for one month from the date of issue. This means that a visa holder\r\n should use the visa within one month from the date of issuance.
  • \r\n
  • This\r\n however, doesn't mean that the holder is granted one month to stay in the\r\n country. The length of stay in the country is determined by the\r\n immigration officer at the port of entry and begins on the date the holder\r\n enters the country and not from the date when visa was issued.
  • \r\n
  • Visas are\r\n issued within two working days - 48 hours from the date of receipt of the application\r\n (depending on the information availed). Failure to fully complete the\r\n application form may result in the issuance of a visa being delayed or\r\n refused. Visas issued at the Uganda Embassy, Tehran enable the holder to\r\n proceed to a port of entry where he/ she must comply with the laws and\r\n regulations governing the admission of persons to the Republic of Uganda.
  • \r\n
  • Possession\r\n of a visa is not a guarantee of entry to the country, the immigration\r\n officers at the port of entry may deny a visitor entry if she/ he does not\r\n fulfill immigration requirements or does not possess sufficient funds to\r\n support himself/herself for a reasonable period after his/her arrival,\r\n return/ onward tickets and other documents required for his / her\r\n destination.

All visa fees will\r\nbe paid to Bank Melli Central Branch: A/C Number 702739, and\r\npayment receipt attached with original passport, and brought to the\r\nEmbassy for processing of the visa

List of countries whose\r\nNationalities do not require a visa to enter Uganda:

Angola, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados,\r\nBelize, Burundi, Comoros, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Grenada, Italy\r\n(Diplomatic Passport holders only), Jamaica, Ireland, Kenya, Lesotho,\r\nMalawi, Malta, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone,\r\nSingapore, Solomon Islands, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania,\r\nTonga, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Should you be in doubt as to\r\nwhether you require a visa, consult your nearest Uganda Diplomatic or consular\r\nMission.

After entry into Uganda, a visitor\r\nmay request to extend his stay; where visitors seek to stay longer than the\r\nperiod granted in the visitor's pass on arrival, extension of the period should\r\nbe sought from the Department of Citizenship &Immigration at the Ministry\r\nof Internal Affairs Headquarters in Kampala or respective regional offices\r\nbefore expiry of the initial visitor's pass. Save for EAC nationals, extensions\r\nsought by other foreign nationals shall not exceed six months in aggregate.

  13. All\r\n foreign nationals entering and residing in Uganda must comply with\r\n immigration legislation and other national laws of the country during\r\n their stay in Uganda
